How to use two extruders?

I want to print a model with two colors, but don't know how to do this.

Do I need to separate the two colors in two stl-models, which I merge in S3D?

Shall I use two different Processes, one set to "Right extuder only" and the other to "Left Extruder only"?

Any other hint or advice are highly appreciated.
