4.1 Sequential Broken or Not?

I keep reading that squential printing is now broken in v4.1. Is this true or not true? I'm brand new as of yesterday to Simplify3D, so 4.1 is my first version to use.

I'm attempting to print 16 identical small parts on my CR-10S4 (one at a time). When I play the print preview, the nozzle is hopping around all over the place which gives me the impression that its not going to do what I'm wanting.

I know I have plenty of clearance as I've done the same type of print using Cura.

Can someone fill me in please?

Thanks!

Could you please post a Factory File where you see Sequential Printing not working correctly? We would love to take a look and assist.

Sequential printing is not broken...it still works. But...and there has to be a But....a change in v4.1 resulted in sequential printing not working as expected if parts are placed too close together on the build platform.

Leave sufficient of a gap....and all works okay. Don't leave sufficient of a gap.....and expect the unexpected!

And as Alex has suggested, best to attach a Factory file ( File Menu===>Save Factory File ) so someone can check how you have things set up. You've probably made a basic setup error......which happens a lot! I think you're paying too much attention to the doom merchants rather than ensuring you have the basics right!

Guess the real question is.... What is that magical distance between models?
And can we adjust it? and why are we not allowed to adjust it?

In order....Don't know.....No...and...Don't know.

What I do know is that I've raised a new feature request to display this magical box so we can at least see it!

See attached factory file I was trying to print sequentially (one at a time).

I was right.....a basic setup error.

Take a look at the fixed version of the factory file. The differences are obvious....so I hope I don't need to explain them.

I have to be totally honest with you... The only difference I saw was that all of the models were highlighted (selected). When I went into 'Prepair to Print' and Played the preview, the head was bouncing around all over randomly just as it did before when it didn't physically print sequentially. I'm VERY new to this slicer, so you have to forgive me.

Thanks

Okay....the differences:

Your factory has ONE process set up to print 16 parts.

My factory has SIXTEEN processes, each set up to print just one part.

Not that difficult to spot!

Thank you for pointing it out. Not that obvious to a new software user, especially where other software products don't make it that difficult to print sequentially. Having to create a process for every model replication is absurd.
