Bad print quality

Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:17 am

Hi!
Printer: Makerbot Replicator 2
Material: PLA

I have been reading Simplifys Print Quality Guide and making tests for some days now. I dont get this to work.
Se pictures below:
<img src="https://www.forumbilder.com/images/2019/08/27/1.jpg" alt="1.jpg" border="0">
<img src="https://www.forumbilder.com/images/2019/08/27/2.jpg" alt="2.jpg" border="0">

<img src="https://www.forumbilder.com/images/2019/08/27/4.jpg" alt="4.jpg" border="0">

I have set the outline overlap to 55%.
The extrusion miltipler is set to 1.05.
As you can se in the pictures, it seems like the extruder stops to feed material. But I dont se any logic in how the extruder does.
Then tonight I tried the software from Makerbot and the print went just fine.

Please help me out with the best settings in Simplify. And give me som tips and trix for future prints.

Thanks in advance!

Your extrusion multiplier is set far too high for PLA....so I must assume you have other settings that need correction as well. You should get far better results with such a good printer as this!

Try the attached settings.....which are what I use on my MakerBot.

You may need to tweak the global-Z offset to get adhesion right.

I'd also check you don't have multiple meshes in one stl by using the Separate Connected Surfaces option on the Mesh dropdown

Have you calibrated the steps on your extruder?
