Com7 connect

1. How do I get it to connect to com7 on a Makergear M2? It only offers com3 and I can't change it.
2. I get an error on every search I try here. It wants to ignore my search item, "too common".
3. How do I find any answers I may get since I can't do a search?
4. Please respond to Jim@ReiffMolding.com

Re: Com7 connect

JimPE,

I can only help (I hope) with the COM7 item. There should be a "Refresh" button next to the pull-down for the port selection. After you plug the M2 USB cable in and the USB hardware enumeration (connect) process finishes, hit the Refresh button and see if COM7 is now in the list of available ports.

I've had no issues with finding my port, either in Win7-64 or Linux Mint-64. If I unplug the USB and plug it back in on Linux, though, I need to refresh and it's on a different "port" (one higher than the first time), but that's the only "trick" I've seen.

Good luck with all your questions.

Re: Com7 connect

I tried that before but this time I got it to work after I shut enough things down. Thank you very much.
