Simplify not starting after Windows 10 update

Simplify is not starting anymore after I installed the latest Windows 10 update.

Are there any updates to simplify planned to address this issue?

Try rolling back any graphics driver update. Most Windows update issues tend to be non-compatible graphics drivers.

Re: Simplify not starting after Windows 10 update

I did rollback the driver, I also reinstalled simplify and I installed the current Nvidia driver from their website. Still just a "white screen" in Simplify. Everything else (Games, Fusion360, OpenSCAD, Cura, Slic3r, etc) work fine.

This is probably related to your graphics setup. Could you contact us at support@simplify3d.com? We will need some more info about your setup and I do not want to ask you to share that on a public forum.

Similar issue, Win10 did what looks like an Office update yesterday, reboot and S3D gives blue busy pointer, then nothing. Reboot, same. Uninstalled S3D and installed, same. Never get any window up.

This is actually not related to the above issue. The listed faulting module in the report is ntdll.dll. We have had several customers with this issue, and they have all had one of two Dell programs installed, either Dell Backup and Recovery or Dell Support Assist. If you have either of these programs, could you please uninstall them and let me know if it solves your issue?

Re: Simplify not starting after Windows 10 update

I can reproduce this error.

General options -> Visualization -> Render Settings -> Acceleration Mode

I have this on "Automatic", no problems at all. If I set this one to "Compatibility Mode" I only get a blank window after restarting S3D.

It does work on all settings (on my machine) except "Compatibility Mode".

As far as I can tell this setting is saved in the registry:

HKCU\Software\Simplify3D\S3D-Software\MainOptions

"accelerationMode" REG_DWORD

Settings seem to be:

0 - Automatic
1 - Native
2 - Compatiblity Mode
3 - Disable

I did not dig further into this but guess a graphics driver update might help here.... (running a rather old nvidia 430.86/win10 pro x64 1909 here)
