Support Upper Separation Issue

So when printing at a 0.2mm layer height and using 1 layer for upper separation for supports it works fine.
If I drop to a 0.16mm layer height and still use a 1 layer separation height I get a lot of bonding between supports and the part on top of supports.

If I go to 2 layer separation then I get some messy layers over supports.

Anyone come up with a way to do better with this? I so wish they would do support spacing by layer OR actual thickness.

Re: Support Upper Separation Issue

You could try enabling dense supports. Assign a "virtual extruder" for the dense supports so you can modify the extrusion multiplier. Then you should be able to print the supports a bit less than 100% extrusion and you might be more pleased with how well they come off.

Doesn't work. It's also a lot of trouble to go through for something that should not be an issue in the first place.
