Does 'start printing at height' work in 4.1.2 without colliding with print?

I am working on a long a complicated print and it was interrupted. Reading several posts it seems that 'start printing at height' function has a bug and extruder ends up colliding with the print. Has this bug been fixed in 4.1.2? If not, is there a simple way to avoid it?

If a print is interrupted, and you attempt to start a new print, the machine will need to be homed or at the very least be told what position the extruder is currently sitting at. If your printer has a print resume function, this is typically preferred to attempting to manually setup a second print in what the software believes is an empty bed.
