Slicing Errors?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post.

Last week I switched from Repetierhost to Simplify3D after a year of successful printing on our Printrbot and home-built mendel derivative machines.

I downloaded the Mini Eiffel Tower from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:311002/#files

When I sliced the model, I the preview showed mysterious holes in the outer skin. I have tried reducing the number of perimeter passes, the infill from 20% to 100%, etc, but with no success. The slicer also seems to have trouble with the arch at the bottom between the legs leaving holes, overshooting corners, and putting small circles at the corners of the layers.

Slicing with cura doesnt show this problem, and i've also run the model through all of the diagnostic/repair tools in S3d, used netfabb, and used https://modelrepair.azurewebsites.net/ with no improvement.

I had a friend with a similar setup (including S3D) download, slice, and print the model with no errors. Please see the attached photo and factory file.

Re: Slicing Errors?

Why don't you ask your friend to share his factory file and then you can compare the settings to yours. If his sliced fine and yours didn't, then I would imagine he is using different settings
