Missing outer lines in preview mode?

In Preview mode i get missing outer lines, sometimes it even shows me holes.
The missing parts changing when i change the layer height.
I attached two pictures with layer height 0.15mm
1.PNG
and 0.1mm.
2.PNG
Is this a common bug?

I cannot confirm these errors in the final print, however, I cannot completely say its just a visual bug.

Cheers,
Jonas

Re: Missing outer lines in preview mode?

That looks like it's either just the normal retraction dots (you can try disabling the "Retractions" checkbox on the left panel when the preview is up) or it may be some wiping (try disabling wiping and see if it goes away).

If those ideas don't work, post your factory file so that others can take a closer look.

Retraction dots are green. That is your coasting.

Re: Missing outer lines in preview mode?

As Carl,,,and Jim..both say, what you're seeing in the preview is the absence of feed of the filament during coasting. This shows when the extruder is not actually feeding, and it'll be where natural oozing of filament from the nozzle is being taken advantage of....which is normal.

I did raise a thread in the Feature Request section of the forum to incorporate an option for the preview mode to ignore this lack of filament whilst coasting so that issues with printing could be spotted easier. Here's the thread if you (or anyone else) wishes to add a comment, etc on it: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=4098&p=17832&hilit=preview#p17832
