If you're exporting directly to the USB stick, you'll need to manually delete the gcode file that also gets generated by Simplify3D. I've also experienced freezes when loading USB sticks that have any g-code files even files sliced with other slicers for other printers.
I bought a sandisk 4gb stick just to keep with the 3D40 and only load it with the g3drem files.
