Spent over an hour creating a complex set of processes for a giant print. Saved the factory file, today I load it back into S3D, processes are all gone.
According to the FAQ, processes should be saved no? Is this a bug?
Looks like this only happens with really large meshes. When the factory file is reloaded, or you reopen S3D and it reloads the previously closed session, there is a warning message:
WARNING: Incorrect binary format detected.
..and then in some cases will actually load a corrupt version of the STL that it saved and compressed with the factory file, but not always.
(see attached pic as an example)
Looks like this is what causes the processes to not load from the factory file, probably because the load process just bails when the "incorrect binary format" happens.
Same thing here. I suspect part of it may be larger or finer resolution/higher poly models in a 4K viewing space that is exceeding some limitation and causing S3d to go haywire or crash.
To Submit a bug report...
1. To submit a bug report scroll up and click "Support"
2. Scroll down. Click the "More" under Contact Support
3. Choose "Software Technical Support"
4. Then choose "Other"
5. File out the form. Provide files such as factory files and the STL.
6. Describe process to cause problem in detail. step by step.
Hope this helps.
I like this software. The more I use it the more some things just do not make sense.
