Perimeter shell overlap on shallow slopes

I've been printing legs for the Vorpal Combat Hexapod (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2513566). They have a region with a shallow slope, and I've noticed that is the weakest part of the print. Most of the legs broke here when trying to remove the print from the raft. I think it's because the layers are offset by about one extrusion width, so with 2 perimeter shells, there's really only about one shell of overlap. Is there a way to tweak this behavior in Simplify3D (other than just adding more shells)?

Thanks!

Re: Perimeter shell overlap on shallow slopes

You can increase the number of top or bottom solid layers, since that would also add more solid fill near those steep overhangs

This is one of the uses of the variable settings feature: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/arti ... f-a-model/

Simply divide the model using the wizard....and then increase the number of perimeters where you have need due to the angle of the outside surface.

Both good ideas; thanks!
