Windows 7 System Sounds.

Ok so this is a very strange issue, whenever Simplify3D is running, windows keeps making what sounds like USB connect/disconnect sounds. Stops when Simplify3D is not running.. Any idea?

Yea that is a weird one. That doesn't happen on my Win7 computers. Are you sure you don't have a malfunctioning USB port? I had an old computer that had a similar issue. When you plugged in a USB device, it would constantly connect/disconnect since the port had become damaged.

Thanks for the response, I finally figured it out... I'm not sure how many people connect their printer to their computer (I didn't), but I would think that this selection should default to disable..

Anyway, ticking that option has stop the insanity... :o

Re: Windows 7 System Sounds.

I'm curious - if you re-enable that option and then go to tools --> machine control panel, what device or COM port is the software trying to connect to? I imagine you would see a lot of "connecting to COM5.." and "Connection failed" messages. The software should only connect to 3D printing devices, so I would be curious to know what was on the COM port that it kept trying to connect to.
