Windows 10

hiya all,

I decided to change to win 10 for reasons I won't go into.

S3D installs fine but I am finding that it freezes as if out of memory. there is no other apllications running and the % of memory it's using according to task manager is next to nothing.

it just stops moving but the extruder keeps going.

I was wondering what is being done about the use of win 10 and if we will see any updates soon.

in the mean time is there anything I can do to remedy this problem?

Re: Windows 10

Its funny i just switched my pc to windows 10 2 days ago as well. Im a mac guy but for windows i am liking 10. Anyway, i have not seen the problem you are. Everything works good on my setup. I did have a video out of memory issue when i loaded the plate full of complex parts. When preparing the preview and error message would pop up. I had a small quadro k420 in the machine at the time which i just upgraded to a gtx960 4g yesterday. Everything works way smoother now and no error. Still though, even before the card change slicing something of normal size worked fine and it ran the printer fine. My mac on the other hand has half the video memory that the quadro card did and i have never gotten an error on that. Just a feeling but i dont think the error was windows 10 related. I think i would have still gotten it on 8 if i tried. Try running s3d in windows 8 compatibility mode and see if that works. Do a search for compatability assistant.

Re: Windows 10

hiya,

Yeah I've tried the compatibility thing.
I've tried 32 and 64 bit

but I keep getting this stall during print. I kept an eye on the comms window of S3D and an ear on the pinter.

with verbose ticked i see the progression of te code but that stops and the printer purges it self the stops.

there was a moment that everthing had stoped but jumped in to life for a couple of lines of code then stopped again completely.

I am not too sure why this is. I can only suggest its memory allocation witin the OS but I can't say that for sure.
