No support on "strange" models

Hi everyone,

I'm sure it's a noob question, but i can't precisely name the effect, so i can't search for it either.
I found models on thingiverse, where when i look at the models in Simlify3D, it seems that the model have 0 width walls.
When i turn the model around, some walls disappear, while others appear. If i try to print it, Simplify has ideas how to do
that, but i can't place any support on these places. Could anyome please help me, what this phenomenon is called, and
how i can fix this?
Example: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:276307 (Right thumb has this effect, while left one is perfectly normal)

Thanks in advance,
Aeren

Re: No support on "strange" models

The model has flipped triangles on its surface. You can fix it in S3d by selecting "Flip Surface orientation" from the Repair menu and then clicking on the one that's messed up.

For other model problems, look into NetFabb Basic (Free) or the cloud service, which does a more complete repair, at https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/
