Screen Resolution

I have an Asus Aspire One laptop connected to my 3D printer. It has a maximum screen resolution of 1024x600. Unfortunately some of the S3D screens requirer a higher resolution - this ends up with me presenting screens where the main control buttons are below the bottom of the visible window where I can't access them. It isn't possible to scroll S3D's screen to get to those buttons, making S3D unusable.

For most popular software the minimum screen resolution is stated as 800x600 - it would be nice if S3D supported that.

Furthermore the S3D specifications do not specify the minimum screen requirements, so that needs to be addressed.

1024x600 and 800x600 have the same vertical height, so it wouldn't help you if S3D worked on an 800x600 screen.

Besides, according to many places on the web that track such things, 97% or more of users out there have displays that are 1024x768 or greater. At some point it's not worth trying to support a tiny minority.

I agree, however that isn't a good reason for not defining what resolution is supported in the technical details of the product. Part of the test procedure carried out before any release is made should be to confirm that it does work at that minimum resolution, so by not defining what that resolution is the assumption is that no-one bothers.

Though I am not conversant with Microsoft's requirement for certification, knowing how fussy they are about crossing i's and dotting t's I would have thought they would deny S3D certification because of this.

My need to support the resolution has gone away now anyway, so I don't need this to be resolved. However let's get the specification sorted.
