Thin Wall Behavior Issues

SO prior to v2.2 and this feature S3D filled all walls no matter their thickness. However since all these updates I've had to begin modeling my projects around what will slice with S3D which doesn't allow me to be as precise as I want.

Any wall under 1.50mm usually will not be filled only outlined. I've always printed at 0,20mm and 60-100% infill. However it's gotten so annoying I've considered just going back to a free slicer.

The area in question is 4mm wide 3.75mm long and a 1.35mm screw hole. using two shells per normal. Thin wall behavior set at default 10%, adjusting this does nothing. How can I get around this? If you need more settings info please let me know.

Re: Thin Wall Behavior Issues

I'm confused. Looking at your pictures it seems like the walls ARE filled in... Secondly, if you wall is 4mm thick, then you should have no trouble printing 2 outlines and then using infill for the interior (4 x 0.5mm = 2mm, still leaves 2mm to fill with infill).

The thin wall settings on the advanced tab give a lot of control over how the software does things. In fact, you could easily set those up to behave exactly like v2.2 did, although I wouldn't recommend it since what it does now is much better.

If you want more help, why don't you post your factory file and give a bit better description or picture of the exact problem area.

Re: Thin Wall Behavior Issues

there is the outline overlap %.

this might be the issue with it not filling in. might need some calculating but I'd check that.

you say you print at 0.2mm if that is your nozzle diameter. I would like to hear more :)
