Makerbot Replicator 5th Generation FFF Settings

Hello S3D-Community!

I'm using S3D for a longer time with a Makerbot Replicator 2 and had great printing results using a modded version of the standard FFF settings for the Rep2.

Now I got a Replicator 5th Generation and Im still trying to get good results. Sadly there seems to be no usable standard-profile for the 5th Gen so that I started testing around with the parameters to create an own usable printing profile. I already got good results but it heavily depends on the model I want to print.

On smaller and more difficult prints there is way to much material where on simpler prints are printed good.

Is there a chance that any of you could help me with the parameters or even post your settings?

Here are some of my settings:

Nozzle diameter: 0,40 mm
Extrusion Multiplier: 0,85
Extrusion Width: Manual @ 0,40 mm

Retraction Distance: 1,00 mm
Extra Restart Distance 0,20 mm
Retraction Vertical Lift: 0,00 mm
Retraction Speed: 1200,00 mm/min

Coast at the End: disabled
Wipe Nozzle: disabled

Primary Layer Height: 0,15 mm
Top Solid Layers: 4
Bottom Solid Layers: 4
Outline/Perimeter Shells: 2
Outline Direction: Inside-Out

Interiour Fill Percentage: 100%
Outline Overlap: 20%
Infill Extrusion Width: 80%
Minimum Infill Length: 5,00 mm

You mentioned that the current 5th generation slicing settings (since the Mini, Replicator and Z18 all have the same extruder) don't work well for you, but you didn't really give details.

Is it under/over extruding, stringing, jamming, etc?

Thanks for your answer! Its over extruding on areas where you have infill. There is no problem with only walls.

Hmm... I don't see that at all on my 5th gen using their stock settings. But either way, you can adjust how much it extrudes by lower the extrusion multiplier on the Extruders tab. Try lowering it by 0.05 and then repeat until it looks like it is extruding the correct amount.

Are you printing larger / rugged or small / wispy objects?

With the S3D stock settings, there is way to much material and the result of printing small objects is more a big "blobb" than the original object.
