Build plate size for D4S

The Build plate size in the Wanhao D4S profile is too small. Had some prints from Thingiverse made for a D4S but were a bit too big for the Build Plate. So I measured the plate and filled in the following values under Tools > Options > Machine.

Must be X-axis: 220mm
y-axis: 140mm
z-axis: 150mm

After this I can print all the files.

The current volume is 220x140x150 . I believe you mean that the X-axis should be 225?

Re: Build plate size for D4S

Their website lists the build dimensions as: 225mm x 145mm x 150mm. But who really needs that 5 x 5 square at the other side of the build plate? :ugeek:

I'd use those values for it!

Re: Build plate size for D4S

Sorry, the settings are back to standard again as I checked.

The real size is 228 x 145 mm. Normally I don't need that few mm's, but came across some prints that needed this actual settings.

Re: Build plate size for D4S

I now have the problem that this setting cannot be saved. Everytime I start S3D and build something big I have to adjust this setting again.
Is there a way to keep this setting?

Use the export button to export a new .fff file, then import that newly created file.

Re: Build plate size for D4S

That doesn't work. Even if I change the infill settings as example, the build plate dimensions are back to standard.
Have to correct this with every setting I make.

Under the G-Code tab, there's the option for Override Machine Definition with settings below,

if that box is checked, it will change your build size dimensions.
