USB loosing connection?

newbie here, having trouble with my creatr.

Started a print after installing drivers for an HP laserjet, I think it might be causing trouble with the USB. I'm using a Leapfrog Creatr with Win7.

When I first started up, I was getting this:
Attempting connection at \\.\COM5...
Permissions error connecting to port
Is there another application already connected to this port?
Error opening selected port.
Unplugging the printer USB cable and plugging it back in lets it connect, but the times I've tried printing since then it's lost the connection during the print, and can't get it back. I get this:

Like I said, I just recently set up an HP laserjet 1536 on USB, I had no problems prior to that, and due to the way my computer stuff is setup right now, I'd like to keep it as a USB printer rather than messing with a router just for the printer. The creatr doesn't have an SD card slot, so it's USB or nothing. I'm looking to see if there's some way to pin down the problem sort of bothering with uninstalling the printer drivers.

Re: USB loosing connection?

I had this problems. Hunted for anything else that might be taking control of the USB COM port; No luck.

Finally I just unplugged all the other USB cables. And either the Logitech Webcam OR the printer was causing some kind of conflict; suspect the printer because that would regularly drop out before this situation.

Hopefully this helpful to other users; was frustrating hunting it down.

I also had USB disconnects when I had a Logitech camera on the same line. Usually 30 minutes to an hour into the print. I thought it was random, but after I unplugged the camera from the USB hub, the disconnects went away. I don't know where the ultimate problem lies - with the S3D app, the USB/serial driver, the RAMBO board in my Makergear M2, the Logitech driver or even someplace else. Too bad - I was using the camera to help me monitor long prints.
