Hello All,
I just bought this software today. I am very new to 3d printing and this software for sure. I have a davinci 1.0 and the xyzware sucks. I bought this to help with 2 things mainly.
1.) To be able to help put supports where they need to go rather than all over like XYZ does. This is customizble right? It was what I read so I pulled the trigger on this.
2.) I noticed how you can import multiple pieces in at a time. In my case, it is an ironman cut up into several different pieces. IS there any way to join all the pieces together and scale them as 1 so that I cna print each piece at the right scale? Scaling is killing me....

2) sure, just import the multiple models, then select all of them (Ctrl-A), and then click the Scale button on the right-side toolbar. Then you can just draw to scale to the size you need. Another option would be to select all parts (Ctrl-A), then group them (Ctrl-G), then double click on one of the parts and enter the exact scaling you want (i.e. 200%)

Thank you so much joej. I will keep having to play with it. I understand that I just need to spend some time with the software. With the Ironman Helmet, like I said the pieces are in several parts. Its hard to get them all lined up correctly on the screen. Like to create a full helmet so I could then adjust the scale as a whole and then seperate again and print each piece seperately.
My next issue is. I tried to do a test print last night on something smaller. I am still trying to fine tune the settings. It just seems as though my printer wasnt printing as smooth as it normally does with the xyzware. I stopped it because in watching it print from simplify3d, i almost felt as if my extruder was too close and dragging on the layers. Kind of looked like it was struggling to get around. Its hard to tell and maybe I wasnt letting it go long enough but i got worried about burning up the printer or something with it struggling. So I need to figure out what I need to do to correct this, or to even make sure I am having an actual issue.
