Simplify3d Mouse Issue

I just purchased S3d and have installed it on a Windows 8.1 64 bit system. This machine is setup for cad design and currently runs Solidworks and Mastercam software, I am stating this to show that I am not trying to run this on a Walmart computer. I currently use a Logitech performance MX mouse. I have the buttons programmed for my cad software for special keystrokes. I also am running Trend Micro antivirius.
After starting the program and importing a STL or for that matter even when I have no STL file in the graphics screen I cannot rotate ,translate, zoom ,etc anything in the graphics window. Now I can access all of the menu buttons and can change views with the menu but when I bring the pointer down into the graphics area the mouse is non responsive. I have tried a basic USB mouse and have tried using the 32 bit system but I have the same results.
I have sent two requests to Simplify's support and have gotten no replies, Not real pleased with customer support right now,or should I say NO customer support. I really think that two days is ample time for a reply from the maker of the software.
Ok done with my rant. I have a sister machine to the one that I am having issues with and S3d runs fine on that machine. I now think that it is possibly machine related but have no clue where to start. I am a complete Noob when it comes to windows 8 so I am asking for any guidance that anyone might be able to supply.

Thanks in advance !

Supports usually very good about getting back to me when I email. It's possible it didn't go through, try emailing from another address to [email protected]

Re: Simplify3d Mouse Issue

Thanks for the replys. I have sent 3 emails using there support page from there web site. Yes I agree that it sounds like a driver issue, i have installed the current driver for my video card, what is confusing is that the sister machine that has the same setup runs the software fine. Its very frustrating I will try to email direct and not through there web site.

Thanks again!

Re: Simplify3d Mouse Issue

i can say just by having my own website with a user input field like that, the person almost never gets through. for every one person sending me a message i get aprox 1-2 thousand spam. i totally had to just make it so nothing got through. anyway, a direct email is always best.

the driver wouldnt be for your video card. that has nothing to do with the mouse. you need to make sure your mouse driver is up to date. either microsoft driver, logitech or whatever brand of mouse your using. i put a link below to a software tool i have been using for years. it costs nothing and malware free. run it. you will be amazed at what your out of date on.

Re: Simplify3d Mouse Issue

Thanks for the software link. I did finally get in touch with support . I did recomend that they do something about how to contact support. It set the tone of my issue the wrong way from the start. I will check my drivers.

Thanks

Re: Simplify3d Mouse Issue

If you reprogrammed the mouse buttons, the OS may very well be 1) sending your mouse actions to the wrong software or 2) sending something other than the usual mouse up/down button clicks to Simplify3D, which their software won't have event handlers for. Did you reprogram your buttons within the OS or within your cad software? If you want to test drive, set your buttons back to original settings and try Simplify3D again.
