only perimeters possible?

I'm printing a cylinder with fairly thin walls using transparent filament, and ideally I would like to have the entire cylinder constructed of ONLY perimeters... no infill. I've tried a whole bunch of different settings, increasing my perimeter count, fooling around with infill, making the cylinder wall an even multiple of the extruder diameter, etc. etc. Anyone encountered a similar need and figured out how to achieve it?
Thanks for listening.

Re: only perimeters possible?

top layers 0
bottom layers 0
infill 0
perimeters.....how ever many you want

if a single perimeter will work for you then use vase mode

Alas, no joy. Set top layers, bottom layers and infill to 0 as you suggested. Set perimeters all the way up to 150. Still insists on putting infill between the inner and outer walls of the cylinder.

Post a factory file so we can see what you are trying to do.

Re: only perimeters possible?

Are you talking about two tubes, one inside the other? Or are you trying to print a hollow cylinder?

yeah, gotta see a file for this one. i thought i knew what you were trying to do but i guess not. a simple cylinder will hollow out no problem.

I've attached the stl file for the part I'm trying to print, as well as a screen capture of the point in the process that illustrates the problem. As you can see, the slicer is laying down an infill in between the inner and outer walls of the cylinder at this part in the gcode, even though i've set all the parameters to 0 except for the number of perimeters (at 60).
So what I'd LIKE to have happen is that at this point, there's only perimeters.

Re: only perimeters possible?

OK the problem is that the space between the 2 walls is less than 1.2mm so the slicer can not use 2 perimeters it has to put in fill to fill the gap. You need to change the setting as shown use 2 perimeters and I think it will do what you need.

Change the extrusion width to just under 0.4. You may need to play with this on your machine.
