New Bug V3.0.1 - Medium Quality missing

Found another one, but you guys should like the ones that are easy to reproduce, as this one is.

Accidental Discovery: I noticed my build times between left and right extruder are off by nearly DOUBLE... IE, right extruder says it will build in 1hr 45 min. and left extruder says 3hrs and 7 mins. Both extruders set to MEDIUM quality, all settings match.

Then stumbled on the bug by switching setting a few times. The MEDIUM print setting does not work. If you switch to HIGH quality it makes a change, and if you switch to LOW quality, it changes again. But Medium is either HIGH or LOW, whatever setting was used last. It turns out I printed a part on HIGH a while back and unbeknownst to me, all my parts since that part have also been printing on HIGH regardless that it was set on MEDIUM. The default medium setting seems to be missing.

Works fine for me. I have the medium quality setting in all of my profiles and it works fine.

Are you sure you didn't just click the red minus button beside the quality level to remove it? It's also possible you actually edited the settings that are used for the medium quality option, since you can easily do that through the UI now.

This video explains how this stuff works much better than I can :D

Re: New Bug V3.0.1 - Medium Quality missing

That was a very nice video. But no, Medium still does NOTHING. I switch to LOW and it changes, I switch to Medium and it says medium, but still has the low settings. Then I switch to HIGH and it changes, then I switch back to medium again, and it says medium but still has the HIGH settings. So medium is there, it just doesn't work. Any changes to Medium are lost by next switch to either high or low.

I deleted the medium setting and remade the MEDIUM quality profile and it started working. I guess it got corrupted or something, because it was there, but no changes would ever stick before deleting and remaking. I had to do this for each extruder.

Have you tried correcting the "Medium" settings and saving / updating? Sounds like it could be a problem with the Medium section of the FFF... could export and compare in a text/xml editor...

Bummer. Deleting the medium profile and remaking it only worked until the program restarted. Now it is back to not working. Only LOW and HIGH quality settings are working. Medium has NO EFFECT. Changing the values does not stick.

It's working fine with every profiles I have. So if it isn't working for you with your specific profile, then this is really easy to troubleshoot - just go to File --> Export FFF profile, and select your profile. Then post the .fff file here and it will be really easy to see exactly how you have each section configured and why it isn't working.

Here is the FFF for my right extruder. I viewed in notepad++ and the settings in this file are not aligned with what the program is saying. Hence the root of the problem.

Re: New Bug V3.0.1 - Medium Quality missing

Your <autoConfigureMaterial> section for ABS is blank and so is the <autoConfigureQuality> section for Medium quality. This means that nothing will change when you select those values. So this is why you aren't getting any settings to change when you switch to medium quality, because you don't have any options defined there.

I'm not sure how you made this profile, but all of the S3D profiles I have used have all of these sections properly filled in which means they function properly. I would recommend either using one of the integrated S3D profiles as a starting point, or going back and manually filling in the auto configure sections that are currently blank in your profile
