Prusa with Dual bowden extruder: tool change g-code ?

he guys,
i need your help :)
I have a prusa r2 evo (from an italian modder, nicolap) with two bowden extruder and i need to print using two colors, of course.
My 3d printer need to rectract 100 mm from an extruder before extrude other 100 mm of news color.

Until today i used repetier host with cura engine but i think that simplify (especially in supports) is best then cura so i need learn print with two colors.

In cura engine i have start and end gcode (the same in simplify) and i've two goce:
- one before change tool;
- one after change toool.
But in simplify there is only one gcode "tool change" and i don't know what insert in this gcode.

In cura these are my gcode:

preSwitchExtruderCode
; EVO prima di cambio estrusore
M117 Cambio colore
G60 ; memorize coordinate
G1 X-25 F10000 ; home x axis
G91 ; relative positioning
G1 F2000 E-100 ; retract old color

postSwitchExtruderCode
; EVO dopo di cambio estrusore
G1 F2000 E70 ; charge new color
G1 F300 E30 ; infill melt-zone
G1 F200 E20
G90
G61 x ; recall x coordinate
G92 E0 ; reset extruder position
G1 F2700 E-2 ; prevent oozing

Some guys suggested me to place in simplify "tools change" the entire g-code, so:

;tool change

; EVO prima di cambio estrusore
M117 Cambio colore
G60 ; memorize coordinate
G1 X-25 F10000 ; home x axis
G91 ; relative positioning
G1 F2000 E-100 ; retract old color

G1 F2000 E70 ; charge new color
G1 F300 E30 ; infill melt-zone
G1 F200 E20
G90
G61 x ; recall x coordinate
G92 E0 ; reset extruder position
G1 F2700 E-2 ; prevent oozing

If i do this and set two process with two extruder in simplify the result is the following;
- the print start with the right extruder (A) (before start it retract and extrude again 100 mm);
- when arrive the moment that i need to print with the other color happen that the extruder A retract 100 mm (and this is good) and after the extruder A extrude 100 mm of the same pla (THIS IS NO GOOD) and after the extruder B start to print ... and this is no good.
In my printer i've a flux to manage two colors.

The question is: what kind of gcode i need to place there to:
- retract 100 mm from extruder A
- extrude 100 mm from estruder B
?

In this video u can see my printer.

Thank u for the help, really.

Re: Prusa with Dual bowden extruder: tool change g-code ?

You just need to place half of your script (the pre tool change part) before the tool change command. Then place the other half after the tool change command. You can tell the software exactly where to place that tool change command by adding "T[new_tool]" into your script. It will replace the [new_tool] variable with the actual tool that it is switching to (i.e. T0 or T1).

For example, here's what I would put in your tool change script

Code: Select all

M117 Cambio colore
G60 ; memorize coordinate
G1 X-25 F10000 ; home x axis
G91 ; relative positioning
G1 F2000 E-100 ; retract old color
T[new_tool]
G1 F2000 E70 ; charge new color
G1 F300 E30 ; infill melt-zone
G1 F200 E20
G90
G61 X ; recall x coordinate
G92 E0 ; reset extruder position
G1 F2700 E-2 ; prevent oozing
