Deltamaker profile

The Deltamaker profile included has a wrong build area.

The profile has 160x160x260mm while the Deltamaker is actually 240x240x270mm. It would be good if that could be corrected, so users could use the whole build envelope available.

Simplify3D reads in the largest square that will fit in the build plate. Therefore you take your actual bed size and multiply by cosine(45 degrees) which is 240*.707=169.6 which is what the profile is currently set to. It's correct as is, it just looks a bit strange if you didn't know it was the largest square that fits into your build plate. You can also use the full size of your build plate when it's set to 169.6 so there's no issues there either.

Re: Deltamaker profile

Well OK, but one of the benefits of a delta style printer is it's ability to print outside the limits of a square shape. For instance, printing a circular bowl could easily go beyond the limits of a square inscribed a delta printer's round build plate.

I haven't tested this yet myself, but will SImplify3D slice a part that exceeds the size of the inscribed square?

Re: Deltamaker profile

The software doesn't use a square to the deltamaker bed, it uses a circle. You just define the size or that circle with the smallest square that fits inside of it. You can still print on every single millimeter of your build platform, don't worry ;)

And yes, even if you place the part outside of the bed, you can still print there. It still slices it just fine.
