Auto Leveling

Hi I am new to 3d printing.

Just ordered a Prusa i3 3D printer, arriving in a few days.
Watched some reviews on the net, really liked Simplify 3D software. Is going to order one copy after I can successfully print some basic shapes using the free software comes with the kit.

A basic concept looking to be clarified about auto leveling.
My understanding is:
- Auto leveling is a feature in the firmware could be upgraded on MKS Gen V 1.1 board.
- Auto leveling provided a set of G code commands to access this feature.
- By running those G code command, firmware will be able to collect enough measurements for adjusting the model.
- Simplify3D is not part of the auto leveling / adjusting.
- Simplify3D just sends original G code to the firmware, and matrix computing happens in the firmware for every line of G code.

A lot to learn. Please let me know if I got this right.

Thanks

Paul

Re: Auto Leveling

Yup, that's correct! Usually, all you need to do is add a G29 command to Simplify3D's starting script. Then it will send the G29 (auto-leveling command) every time you begin a print.
