Auto Leveling printing in the air

Here is what I have, A heavily modified XYZ DaVinci 1.0 that has a auto level servo on the sled. I have got it to work in the past and I'm having a brain fart now. This is my startup script:
M140 S100 ; Set bed temp and do not wait - preheat
M104 S150; Set extruder and do not wait - preheat
G21 ; Units to mm
G28 ; home all axes
G29; Detailed Z-Probe
M190 S[bed1_temperature] ; Set bed temp and wait to be reached
M109 S[extruder0_temperature] ; Set extruder temp and wait to be reached

What the printer does now it does G28 and the center z probe once. Then it lowers the bed I would say a good 30mm then just starts printing in the air. It use to do a 9 point grid for level. I am new to S3D coming from cura.

Why does it seem to be completely missing the G29 command?

Re: Auto Leveling printing in the air

Just compare the gcode file from S3D to the one from your other software. That should make it really easy to see what you need to change in the starting script.

Personally, I would think that running G28 and then G29 would work perfectly, but I've never used your exact setup.

Re: Auto Leveling printing in the air

Can you manually run a successful G29 command by itself? You may have to run a G28 first, or 'G28 X0 Y0' depending on your firmware.

What you're describing is typical of a broken wire to the autolevel probe, BTW.
