Re: Deleted some parts when slicing

Thanks CompoundCarl! It helps a lot. For me, as a new Simplify3D user, explanations like that are very valuable.

I'd like to correct this statement...

"There are some files that are not printable using S3D unless you have a nozzle 0.1mm or less, but the "other" slicers will print something...but not quite the design dimensions."

For any printer driven by any slicer, any parts or areas of parts that should be thinner than one filament width will actually be printed at that one filament width.....so interlocking or fitted parts may not fit!. That is, apart from S3D, which will not print anything oversized!

I stand corrected.
You are absolutely correct. Thank you for pointing it out.
In my mind at the time of writing I was thinking of models that I print quite often for display only purpose and hence dimension is not always critical, but missing parts are not good. And yes, even though you can print the part with the other slicers the part would not be 100% correct to dimension.
S3D is very good, and I do use it a lot.
Not sure if it would be possible to implement what some have mentioned before such as a warning to let the user know that section(s) of parts has been omitted due to too large nozzle/extrusion width would be good and even better if the omitted section(s) was highlighted.
