Volumes of influence as a process

Hello.


I think this feature would be a leap forward in slicing technology.

For any body, you can create basic prismatic shapes such as spheres or cubes, in space, to influence the body with slicing parameters.

Obviously there will be limitations, for instance you cannot enter the volume one layer thickness and exit a different layer thickness. That would be first thing I think.

But you can enter the volume/zone, at one speed, or maybe one flow rate, or even have a temperature change (if the zone is big enough) or even infill densities etc...

The zones can be like processes, you would specify x,y,z centroid of your zone in S3D GUI. And then you specify radius of sphere of influence. And everything after that is just process settings.

Sounds simple, but the programming is probably going to be involved. I think though, this would allow us to take S3D print optimization to the next level.

Sometimes I wish I could really tighten up the infill in the corner of a print and leave everything else alone. Or even have a portion of the print have 3 or 4 perimeters and maybe the other zones 2 perimeters...

The parameters will be based off of obvious physical constraints and programming constraints. But I think if you guys can pull this off it would be revolutionary.
