Hi,
I'm a Simplify3D user since the first version coming out. The software made great improvements, and i feel very comfortable using this for generating code for my professional 3d printers.
I'd like to see in new versions of this great software some support improvements, also if this software is well-known for great support features.
1) Add a parameter that join the support every XX layers to the model. This will help to stabilize your tall complex (or tiny tall) model, but without compromising the easy breakaway support removal. This will also be useful to stabilize high walled objects with small foot-prints. The "bridge" has to be 2x extrusion diameter and a parameter in % let you choose how many "bridges" to create and another parameter let you choose from what overhang angle is the limit under and upper where there is no "bridges" needs. Or maybe you can implement this features also in manual support mode, so you can place "bridges" as you need.
2) Soluble support (choose another extruder) only for the dense support and "bridges". This will greatly help to reduce the (costly) soluble material needs in big prints.
3) Print support every XX layers maybe it need some modifications, as this parameters doesn't need to be applied to the dense infill, and if the dense infill is right under a skipped support layer, the layer need to be compensated adding a single layer or one more dense infill layer.
Not easy to explain this, as my English is quite bad. If someone have some questions i'm here!
