No idea at all…

Hi there,

I have attached 2 screen captures for references to my question.

The model is a baby chair. The seating area is … not filled? Seems like there is not any 'outer shell' on the top part of the seat, isn't it? I printed a miniature of it and the seating area was just oozes. The baby just can't sit on that.

So my question is: Could this be a modelling problem or simply something I need to learn to tweak in S3D? The model looks alright to me, but when I import it into say Cura, similar dilemma shows in their X-Ray preview, too.

Last but not least, consider this a wishing feature. I have color weakness. The legend in the preview is not helping at all. It would be really nice (and I mean it) to have say the Infill section of the model blinked when I do an onMouseOver to the Infill in the legend column.

Thanks for your time and look forward to any of your helps, much appreciated!

Looks like a bad model. Go to File > Save Factory File and attach your file here if you want other people to take a look at it.

It slices fine for me. Everything about the print looks okay. So I guess I don't understand what issue you are having. The seat is definitely filled in. Perhaps you can explain better..

Re: No idea at all… What should I change?

The print is still ongoing, but here is a snap of the progress and should be self-explanatory - messed!

Help guys!

For a quick look looks like you need to multiply your bottom and top layers a lot, and outlines too for a piece like that. If you want want it to keep in one piece when used. What are your layer tab settings? And maybe the infill is too small to print over it?

Where is the 'top' and 'bottom'?

I will increase the top and bottom layer. But this setting puzzles me a lot all the time, say where does it refer to here in this model by 'top' and 'bottom''?

Another dilemma is that even increase a few percentage of infill (now is at ONLY 3%) would hunger the part to using at least 2 whole roll of filaments which sounds not economical. What do you think?

Re: No idea at all…

I attached a image where you can see amount of top and bottom solid layers. The 3% infill is EXTREMELY low for part like that.
