Misaligned Dual Extruders

I have owned a FlashForge dual for almost a year now and have made countless successful dual extruder prints without a problem. However, I recently bought a second FF dual and have run into a problem with the dual extruders. It seems that S3D doesn't quite know exactly how far apart the extruders are. Thus, my dual prints print misaligned. As you can see in the photo below, the raft was printed in black and the pegs were printed in white. Naturally, during slicing the pegs were perfectly centered on the raft. However, when it actually prints the pegs are shifted to the left a few millimeters. Is there a way I can adjust this spacing in S3D so my dual prints print correctly?

Thanks

Re: Misaligned Dual Extruders

That means you need to adjust the firmware's toolhead offsets. You can typically do this using the printer's LCD menu.

Re: Misaligned Dual Extruders

I adjusted my tool offset in the scripts or G-code page, I think I added values there and when it changed tools it read those values and shifted the correct amount. . the actual distance between nozzles x and y was measured then input. It worked for me.

I am not at my machine, but if it does not become apparent when you look I will add better information.

Re: Misaligned Dual Extruders

Hiya,

what I did is uses a square where one extruder does the outline and the other the infill. then print with bottom layer set to 0

from there I can see how much over lap there is and adjust in the GCode tab.

not the easiest way but works for me.
