Attempting to print a bowl shape

I have a bowl shape that I am trying to print. When I am done placing the model in simplified 3d's model view & go to "prepare to print", the bottom of the bowl gets "flattened" on the inside. The model looks fine up till this point. Has anyone dealt with this problem before?

Thanks.

Can you post the model? Or a Factory File?

Re: Attempting to print a bowl shape

From your vague description of the issue you have, I think it may be the same problem as described in this thread...but at a different point in the model: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3677

If it is, temporarily modifying your layer height by a very small amount....for example from 0.2mm to 0.2001mm.....may cure the problem. If it does, then running the model through the Netfabb repair tool (link in the above thread) will probably cure it permanently.

If the issue is not this, then you need to post your factory file as requested above so as to give someone a chance to see what is wrong.

Thanks for the info. I have run the STL through the model repair service and I'm currently attempting a test print with the new model. If this doesn't work I will post the factory file along with some images. Though since it is the last day of work before a long weekend this is unlikely to happen before Monday.

Thanks for your help, you guys are awesome.

Will do once I see the results of my current test print.

Thanks.
