Supports not being printed properly

I have problems with supports not being printed as they should.
Now, the exact same model sliced in Cura comes out perfect.

So I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong in S3D?
What could cause this?

Perhaps if you could post your factory file, we could take a look at your settings to see if you have something incorrect. Go to file > save factory file

That's a mess for sure. I never get that. My WAG is the extruder temp is too high or maybe too high AND under extruding. It all looks like a melted mess.
What is your overall printing speed?

Well the photo you posted isn't working either, but I'll take a guess. Your factory file only has a tiny little hook that is above the build platform that could need support. The hook is only about 2mm wide, but you currently have your support pillar size set to 5mm! There's no way a 5mm pillar will be able to properly support that tiny hook. So change the support pillar resolution to 1mm and it will work.

The photo should work now. It's not only the little hook in his head, but all the supports.
I will try smaller supports though, thanks for the tip.

Well the factory file that you posted literally only prints that little hook, so that's a tad confusing..

Anyways, you also have a very large negative extra restart distance (-0.5mm!!). That's going to create some big gaps at the beginning of your support structures since you are only priming 1.5mm while you are retracting a while 2.0mm.

Ah yes, in the end I printed only the head as that was giving me the most problems.
But again, thanks for this input – I'll give it a go with new settings.
