Makergear M2 issues with Simplify3D

Hello all! I am new, just got my printer today and I purchased S3D to operate it as I heard nothing but good things. Yet I am having some troubles.

I am going through the setup instructions from Makergear and they are showing me how to use the Machine Control Panel to control my Printer. And some parts of it work while other don't.

Basically the Home buttons at the bottom left work, the Enable and Disable motors work, and the Set Fan Speed control work. But when I try to use the Jog Controls or turn on the Heaters, I get nothing. Its like those features in S3D don't work anymore.

Anyone got any thoughts on what might be causing this?

I was really hoping to run my first test print tonight but I am afraid to try to run a print if I can't get it to manually turn on the heaters.

This might sound silly, but have you tried jogging the motors in both directions? If you are up against an endstop, you won't be able to jog in that direction. So try going the other way.

For the heater, all the software does is send a M104/M140 command. It's very simple. You should be able to see that command get sent on the Communication log. At that point, it's up to the printer/firmware to start heating. Nothing else the software can do.

So turns out that something busted on my M2 in shipping. I got ahold of support and they tried to walk me through some fixes but it just wasnt having it. They have sent me a new printer and I am printing my first print on it now! So all is good!

Thanks
