Ooze shield prints AFTER first layer in dual print

After 3.0.0 came out I tried the dual printing support and noticed that if you've selected an ooze shield addition it prints AFTER the first layer is complete. This means that the inactive extruder has the entire first layer to ooze all over the model. It should clearly print the ooze shield BEFORE it prints the actual model.

I emailed support and got no response whatsoever.

If you're a dual user and can confirm what I observed I recommend contacting support to ask that this be fixed.

Re: Ooze shield prints AFTER first layer in dual print

I just noticed this and I keep having problems with the first layer of a print.

Surely it makes sense to have the ooze layer on the first layer.

Re: Ooze shield prints AFTER first layer in dual print

If you just want to prime your nozzle at the beginning of the print, use the skirt. They have an option to print the skirt with "all extruders" which will automatically prime each extruder before starting the print.

The ooze shield is only used when you switch between extruders to prime the inactive extruder. The ooze shield and the skirt have different purposes.
