Part hard to remove from raft

Getting good prints with the default settings for the Makerbot Replicator 2. I would like to be able to remove the part from the raft easier. It is a very slow process to remove it all. Which setting change would be most effective but still adhere the part to the raft well?

Getting a touch of curl on the large 9" parts but that is to be expected. Overall very smooth parts. :)

Re: Part hard to remove from raft

I would strongly recommend using a brim instead of a raft. It works much better for my printers and saves a lot of time and plastic. Plus, the bottom of the print will always look better this way.

Make the switch. You'll be happy you did ;)

Re: Part hard to remove from raft

I see only Skirt settings and no Brim settings. It says skirt/brim but I only can create a skirt that goes around the part with a big gap between.

If I understand it correctly the brim runs around the part, which is printed on the bedplate, and it touches the part. Correct?

Thanks!

They have a great tutorial that covers this: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/tuto ... and-brims/

Got it to work, thanks! However I could Not use a brim along some supports that are printing directly onto the plate. Is there a way brim that?

Re: Part hard to remove from raft

The raft feature is problematic in the most recent release of S3D, there's a few threads in the bug section discussing it. Hopefully they get it fixed.
