Bridging gloppy.
I am having a bridging issue. It works, but the start of each strand is thick and gloppy. The ends of the strands are too think it seems, It takes many layers of infill to cover up the imperfection. I'm priting on a TAZ 5 with PLA, and I have included a picture and the factory file.

That looks pretty good to me. It's thicker because there's nothing under it to support it.
I think you would need to add some support material if you want it to look much better that that...

It's a big leap of faith asking for bridging across a gap of almost 4 cm...and I'm surprised you've achieved what you have done so far!
I know this might be a silly question.....but does this part actually need to be a thin-walled hollow vessel?? Or has it been designed this way purely to save on material usage, etc. If you're able to redesign it so you can take advantage of sparse infill, then the top surface will have some support to give it a chance of resolving a smooth top surface.

It does need to be hollow because I am filling it with insulative foam.
I was able to improve it by lowering the extrusion a bit...but the biggest thing I did was lower the bridging speed to 10% (5mm/sec). Super slow, but much more consistent extrusion thickness and much less 'gloppy.' Still not pretty, but three top layers and I get a pretty good finish.
