Ghost Printing & Dry Runs

Hello Simplify3D Users !

We love the Training Videos and the Simultaneous Support of Different 3D printers using Profiles !

Currently we use Repetier Host to Edit Out the Set Temperature and Temperature Wait Loop so we can teach an Introductory class WITHOUT Hot Tips and Filament.

We would like to do this from Simplify3D G-Code inside the software without using Notepad Plus.

We have Screenshots of our problem, but need to learn how to attach them.

Thank You, Dorothy Ward

Re: Ghost Printing & Dry Runs

If you don't want the software to add any preheating commands, then you just need to make sure that the following variables are present in your starting script
[extruder#_temperature]
[bed#_temperature]

Where the '#' is the temperature identifier number for that heater. So go to the Temperature tab in S3D and then click on each item on the left side. Record the temperature identifier number for each one and whether it is an extruder or a heated bed. Then just add the following commands. You can even make them comments if you want, they just need to be in the starting script. So you could easily do "; [extruder0_temperature]", where the semi-colon makes that line a comment and tells the firmware to ignore it, and the variable tells S3D that you're going to handle all preheating for extruder 0 on your own (so it won't add any automatic commands).
