Wanhao 5S bugs

I'm new to 3D printing, so sorry about simple questions.

I'm using the S3D software with my Wanhao 5S mini. I'm using the transcoder from Ideamaker to convert to I-code. It works fantastic, but for a couple of quirks that I can't figure out.

1. Won't wait for extruder temperature. Perhaps I need to use a different M code?

2. It won't control the fan automatically. Again, maybe Wanhao uses a different M code? It's strange that there is a fan speed control on my 5S, but it doesn't go variable speed. It's got a value of 0 to 255, but it's acting digitally, anything over 127 is on.

3. This would be nice to be able to control the heated print bed via software, but not sure it's got the hardware for that.

If anyone has any general tips on making this combination work well I'd appreciate hearing it.

What profile are you currently using for Simplify3D? There's already some on this forum that you should be able to use without any other changes.

Re: Wanhao 5S bugs

I have the D5S mini and I use the FusionTech ideaPrinter F100 profile, it works quite well.

I'm using this profile:
D5s Mini - 0.2LH - 200-190C - 0.9EM - AUTO EW - 50mmsPS

I couldn't fine any others.

Re: Wanhao 5S bugs

Try going to Help > Configuration Assistant, and then choose the "FusionTech ideaPrinter F100" profile. That's basically the exact same printer as the 5S Mini (you can also choose the F100L if you have the larger 5S).

Go to firmware settings, and edit page no 2.
I dont have access to the program, from here, but from memory.
M104 S200 sets temp to 200, but doesnt wait, you have to use M109 S T0
Fan can only go at 100% (255), m106 starts fan, M107 switches it off.
Use jetguys scripts for start and and, and you are ok.
There's a lot of tweaking, but for now, you should be able to get a fine print.
