Program crashes when attempting to load STL files

So I just downloaded Simplify 3D and it's already giving me a huge problem. The software opens and controls just fine, but when I press import to load a stl file, no matter how big the file is that I choose, the program crashes immediately. Pretty disappointing first impression. I'm running the program on a Macbook pro with 16gb of ram so I know it's not a computer issue. Thoughts?

ive been running on osx for 3 years and never a crashing issue. i dont import though. just drag and drop your stl file. does it still crash?

I have the same problem, I wrote to support and it has been a week or so since they said they would get back to me.
