Print islands sequentially without optimization option...

As you see 3DSimplify 'almost' decides to not overheat my PLA plastic... 3DSimplify frequently find it meaningful to put down 2 layers of plastic, in the same area, even when it has a possibility of going to another area and help the PLA to cool down more.

The “Print islands sequentially without optimization” option is selected – why do you slicer behave like this and how can I avoid it? This issue is a direct show stopper which might prevent us from printing detailed parts.

In this case my print is ruined by warping, from the fact that plastic is put upon non settled plastic, producing a ridge at every 17th layer.
I guess this is a bug – can you confirm?

It looks like it's working correctly to me... In fact, if I disable it, the behavior clearly changes when printing the vertical posts. So I'm pretty sure the setting is working as expected from what I know.

If you still think it isn't, can you provide more details about exactly what layer it isn't working at? I wasn't able to find any problems on first glance...

At the 19th second of the video duration you will see two layers being printed on one stand, in continuation. I suppose that only one layer should be applied each time the nozzle addresses a stand...? This happens at every 17th layer and is the reason for the pronounced ridges, on the stands.

It's not a clear bug. Seems to me that Simplify lacks of some options.
For really small parts it should have a simple option to avoid consecutive layer printed if the area is smaller than Xmm2.

I think, Print Island ... can not have effect because you have a model with two "towers" but it is only one object.

Uncheck Use StartPoint closest to ... ; with Use Random Start Points the preview shows the printing layer by layer for each handle of the glasses frame.

Thanks for your inputs. The “Print islands sequentially without optimization” option is supposed to apply on a part with multiple pillars, stands, areas etc. as well. If not, I miss documentation on that…

I do not believe that selecting the randomly starting point influence on whether the slicer chooses to print only one layer on each pillar sequentially. Again, I will like documentation on that…

Shouldn’t we all benefit when S3D reveals some answers, directly related to issues caused by their own software…? They surely like all the experience and input we provide, so they can improve their software, which of course is a good idea … I just wonder, why can S3D not reflect the same level of dedication? With all respect for everybody in here – By the fact that S3D do not join this community, even when an issue occurs, I find this forum amputated.
