Skirt doesn't print if Start Printing at height is checked

I want to trim off the bottom of a model, but also want the skirt. How do I do this? I tried this and it doesn't work. http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?t ... nted.6170/

I unchecked the Start printing at and set the GCode z-axis to .51 and it doesn't trim the bottom of the model. The raft is there, but the model isn't trimmed.

Thanks,
Jon

Re: Skirt doesn't print if Start Printing at height is check

You don't want to use the global Z-axis G-Code offset for this. Don't use the "start printing at height" option either.

The correct way to do this would just be to double-click on the part and decrease the "Z Offset" by 0.5mm. That will actually lower your part 0.5mm BELOW the build platform surface, but the software it smart enough to know not to print anything below the surface. That way the skirt will still work.
