Hello all.
I've been using Simplify 3D and my Makerbot 2X for a little over two years now to produce some great art pieces. Lately I've been working on projects that require dozens of 2-3 hour builds to finish one large piece. Since I can't be present at the exact moment that each print is complete, I've run into some major time wasting issues with the way jobs are run - both on S3D and the firmware (Jetty/Sailfish) for the Makerbot.
When the job is complete, the heaters immediately turn off - even if you edit the ending Gcode to stop this from happening. I'm thinking this must be part of the firmware. Also, Sailfish, which I prefer over the Makerbot stock firmware, has no hold-heat option to keep the heaters turned on at the end of a build.
I'm wondering if anyone has some tips for setting up some sort of a batch system to make "mass production" runs more efficient on this sort of a setup. Right now I'm wasting well over an hour per day waiting for bed and extruder heaters between builds.
Also would be nice to know if anyone has a method they've discovered to notify you via e-mail/text message when a build finishes.
Thanks for any/all input.
