Makerbot 2 Pauses in middle of print and resumes

Hello,

I am new to Simplify3D.

I been printing to my Makerbot 2 printer for a few days and have noticed a peculiar occurrence.

When I print something, it will be going along just fine, then the printer will just pause. Looking at the communication window, I do not see any loss of communication to the printer. It simply pauses, from 5-30 seconds, then resumes printing.

Sometime these pauses lead to "blobs" which ruin the print.

Any ideas?

Have you tried printing from the SD card? Does the same file print fine there?

As Carl has suggested, you may have to print from the SD card...that is if you're using Windows 10. There's some bug or something in the USB driver controlling code in Windows 10 that is causing these random stop/starts.

I'll try the SD card.

I did try the same print (and a few others) from Makerbot Desktop software and they all printed ok.

And I am using Windows 10.

I hope so! I know many of us have submitted bug reports to microsoft and continue to bug them about it via their developer channels.
