Re: Extrusion Calibration Issue

Thank you. I will read that now.

What about the parts not fitting together?

I was assuming overextruding, but when printing a single walled cube at .6mm it prints all 4 walls +/- .01 mm.

Re: Extrusion Calibration Issue

so, i stumbled upon a PDF file online that had a bunch of Simplify3d profiles to start off with on a Mini. i added in the values in that it had for ABS and i came out with these prints. needless to say, im quite happy, a few more tweaks (with the help of some pros on this board) and i think i will be right on the money!

only issue i see, using my olloclip macro, is
-the infill doesnt quite touch the outter shells
-the corners, some, look a little jagged, droopy

calibration cube, measured 19.99-20.02mm depending on where you measure it, so not bad there. height, which i think should be 10mm, ends up at 10.75mm, so im not sure what thats all about. (overextrusion?)

and heres the steps that ive been doing in the previous posts, cutting off right as they get to the first set of top layers

its odd some of the corners on the steps calibration look nice and sharp, others look droopy as you can see.

Can you post a link to the PDF file?

Re: Extrusion Calibration Issue

here it is. any advice regarding the pictures that i posted above? id love to get moved on from calibration here and starting to print some useful things!

also, does this process, estep calibration and fine tuning, need to be done for each new roll of filament? color? material? abs vs pla, etc?

another question. when doing the estep calibration, telling the printer to extrude 100mm of filament and seeing just how much it does extrude, should the values be spot on each and every time? i feel like i have a good number for the esteps and then itll underextrude by a few MM, next pass its spot on, pass after that it may overextrude a few MM. is that normal?

Re: Extrusion Calibration Issue

so, i finally had some time to play with calibrating this some more tonight and im just completely lost at this point as to what could be going on here.

layer height .2
2 shells
ABS filament from lulzbot printed @ 240
bed @ 110

pictures first then ill explain the best i can what im seeing.

measuring the cube it comes out to 19.94mm x 19.74mm and it should be 20x20. i know it should be that because after having some issues with pulling calibration cubes offline i just made one in fusion360 real quick to use to make sure i knew what i had. you can see in the pic where the cube is still on the bed, the rear two corners look like they are peeling up, overextruded, etc. which doesnt correlate with the fact that when measuring the finished product it comes out smaller then it should be, because that most definitely is underextrusion.

at this point im stumped. hopefully someone can shed some light as to what im doing wrong because im just lost here at this point.
