Stop Printing at height

I would like to change filaments at a certain height. Will this command which is in the Advanced Tab pause a print and move the bed down so the nozzle does not stick to the part? I am using a Replicator 2. Thanks.

Re: Stop Printing at height

That option will only slice your part up to the height you specify. So if you had a 20mm tall cube and enabled "stop printing at height" of 15mm, then as you can see in the preview, it will only print the first 15mm. After it's done printing the first 15mm, it will run your ending script and stop the print as normal.

Some people do use this method, so it could be an option. They print just this one section, then after the print completes, they manually change the filament and then edit their process to "START printing at height" of 15mm, so that it prints the remaining bit (15-20mm). Just be careful that the part does not separate from the bed during this time.

On the Replicator 2, I believe you can also use the LCD panel to tell the printer to stop at a specific height. I think you may need to be printing from the SD card for that option to work though.
