Dual Extrusion Wizard Simply Does Not Work

I have never successfully printed a dual model with my Makerbot Replicator 1 Dual.

I have tried and tried but for some reason, it NEVER EVER extrudes from the right extruder (they both work fine otherwise.

In the preview, it looks perfect. I set the display to show color by tool head and it appears everything "should" work. Problem is, the 2nd color never extrudes even though the nozzle moves through all the motions. As if the command to move the filament never occurs.

It goes through the motions as if it's printing, but no filament is extruded. (on the right head)

Re: Dual Extrusion Wizard Simply Does Not Work

I only see one tool change in the file. It starts with T1 and then switches to T0 around Z=2mm. Is that correct?

Both extruders are heated to 185, which is a little low for most MakerBot machines, but they are definitely both being heated. If you go to Tools > Machine Control Panel and heat your right extruder to 185C, can you manually extrude using the Jog Controls?

Hi Carl,
Thanks for your help :-)
It "should" start printing at z = 1.0mm (assuming the bed's position is z = 0.

I find my prints get "sloppy" above 185. I get strings and hairs as low as 190 so 185 is my normal extrude temperature. It's possible my extruders are hotter than the display is saying so maybe I'm really printing at 210 (for example) but the LED display says 185?

To be honest, in this case I found the issue. It was a break in the filament that I was unaware of. Once I removed the filament, cut a fresh end and reloaded it, it started working so this incident was more a case of an unknown than the software.
mistake.
