Active Cooling Issue with FF

I'm needing help with my active cooling during PLA prints. My Flash Forge Creator Pro wants to activate before the first layer is printed. If I keep the fan speed set to 0 on layer 1, it won't come on as it's supposed to.

But if I set the pre-layer to 10 at 30%, the cooling fan comes on halfway through the first layer print. And the fan speed goes straight to full speed. I've been having to manually disconnect the fan when I start a print, and reconnect it when I feel it's the right time.

I'm I missing a something? Or is this an issue with the software?

Are you talking about the 2 small fans that are mounted directly on the extruder body? Or do you have a single separate blower fan on the left side of the extruder carriage?

Yes I'm talking about my active cooling fan/blower on the left side.

Can you post your factory file? It's hard to help much without providing any files that show how you have things setup

Have you tried using
Fan Options / "blip fan to full power when increasing from idle" ?

Re: Active Cooling Issue with FF

Here is a factory file I'm running this morning.

I've got the cooler to start at layer 10 at 30%. But it kicks on before the complete first layer is laid on the plate. This is causing my prints to not stick correctly. But if I manually disconnect the fan, I have to wait till I think its the right time to start the fan, and I will manually plug it in during a print.

Re: Active Cooling Issue with FF

I looked through your files. Here is what is in the file.

Fan starts turned off (0%)
You have a big bridging region in the middle of layer 3. For this bridge, the fans turns on to 100% (which matches your bridging settings), then turns off again once that bridging region is done printing.
At layer 10, the fan turns on to 30% power and stays that way for the rest of the print.

If you don't need that tiny lip that hangs down at the front of the part, then I would double-click on the part and lower it by 0.2mm in the Z-axis offset. Then you won't need to do any bridging, since you will have a nice flat surface to print on.

Or you can change your bridging fan speed settings or increase the bridging unsupported area threshold to 9999 to essentially disable bridging.

Choice is up to you :D
